Kuspuk

It's time to start sewing my Kuspuk!
A Kuspuk is an Alaskan Native piece of clothing. It can be a light fabric garment or parka that is worn in Alaska during the summer or winter (heavier with fur trim).  Eskimo women make it in bright prints and wear it over their fur parkas in winter to protect the fur.
My Kuspuk is lightweight  and will have a flounce.  Mens'

This Scripture spoke to me as our country approaches fiscal accountability and the Syrian Crisis. Let us join together to pray that our nation turn to trust in The Lord and remember the Truths from His Word.

Isaiah 8

A Call to Trust the Lord

11 The Lord has given me a strong warning not to think like everyone else does. He said,
12 “Don’t call everything a conspiracy, like they do,
and don’t live in dread of what frightens them.
13 Make the Lord of Heaven’s Armies holy in your life.
He is the one you should fear.
He is the one who should make you tremble.
14     He will keep you safe.
But to Israel and Judah
he will be a stone that makes people stumble,
a rock that makes them fall.
And for the people of Jerusalem
he will be a trap and a snare.
15 Many will stumble and fall,
    never to rise again.
They will be snared and captured.”
16 Preserve the teaching of God;
entrust his instructions to those who follow me.
17 I will wait for the Lord,
who has turned away from the descendants of Jacob.
I will put my hope in him.

READING, PRAYER, MEDITATION

''RADICAL"  by Davis Platt
(Excerpts in quotes)
"Spend Your Time In Another Context"  ....But then he looked at me and asked "Even in light of all these things that people have given us, doyou want to know how you  can tell who a true brother is?" I leaned forward and asked, "How?"  He responded, "A true brother comes to be with you in your time of need." Then he lookedme in the eye and said,...you are a true brother. Thank you for coming to be with us."
"Commit Your Life to A Multiplying Community"
Our thoughts:  We have been prepared for this moment in time.  We attribute much of our calling to the influence over the years of having served in missions, specifically the mentoring of Ann H., and the teachings and challenges from Pastor Dan Johnson (Plymouth Covenant Church) who contagiously promote reaching others for Christ.
"It is a glorious privilege to be a part of the universal body of Christ, united with brothers and sisters across the world and across history in a heavenly community."
ACCI (Adventive Cross Cultural Initiative) Our sending organization, has been a huge surprise and gift to us, investing their time and resources to encourage us in our calling.
" We will need to show one another how to give liberally, go urgently, and live dangerously.  When we sacrifice our resources for the poor and then face unexpected and unforeseen needs in our own lives, we will need brothers and sisters to help us stand. In the process we will learn to depend on one another according to God's design."
